Here’s what happened:

September 23rd – 25th

Squilchuck State Park and Devil’s Gulch

Evergreen logged over 230 volunteer hours!!! Devil’s Gulch and Mission Ridge trails are in some of the best shape they have ever been. And a new trail (The Landing Trail) began it’s construction at Squilchuck State Park! Free camping, a pig roast, great trail day, and riding!! The pictures will tell a better story. See the slideshow below for more details. Mark your calendars for next year because Devil’s Fest is here to stay.

Yoga for Mountain Bikers Anyone????

Sept 7-Oct 12, Wednesdays at 5:30 at Snowcreek Yoga Studio in Leavenworth.
The 6 week series is designed for bikers and will focus on building flexibility, core strength and balance with an active and restorative practice. Some yoga experience will be helpful, but not necessary. Stiff, inflexible bodies are welcome! Evergreen and Wenatchee Velo members will get a $5.00 discount, so the cost to members will be $60.00.You can register online at www.snowcreekhealth.com/yoga

Clinic with Shaums March and Kat Sweet!!!

Clinic with Shaums March this Sat., August 13th at Duthie Hill Park in Issaquah WA! Shaums March – World Pro Champ, IMIC Master Coach, and Red Bull Rampage competitor – is heading to Seattle to do a special clinic with Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance this weekend at Duthie Hill Park! Kat Sweet will also be coaching along with the Evergreen IMIC certified instructors.

This is a fantastic opportunity to learn from the pros! If you haven’t had the opportunity to learn from Shaums, he is an amazing coach and phenomenal rider. Kat is a former pro DH racer, IMIC certified coach, awesome rider, and local icon known for her outstanding kids’ and Women’s Freeride programs.

Sat., August 13th

9:30am – 3:30pm

Duthie Hill Park, Issaquah WA

All skill levels welcome!! Kids ages 8-14 and Adults 15 and up. Space is limited to 30 participants and it’s filling up fast!

If you are not registered through BikeReg.com then you are not signed up for the clinic. If you need a bike, Diamondback will have demo bikes available. These must be arranged in advance so let me know.

Beginner Skills Class August 6th

Sign up and work on basic mountain biking skills. This class is designed for new riders who want to increase their abilities and confidence out on the trail.

Summer Ride Series = Awesome

Lot’s of fun, riding, brews, and brats were had last Saturday during the July Evergreen Summer Ride Series event held in conjunction with The Munchen Haus in Leavenworth. THANK YOU MUNCHEN HAUS!!!!!! Kinderfest July 4th

Evergreen will be at Kinderfest! In fact we will be the start of of the whole day. Kinderfest will open with a kids bike parade through downtown Leavenworth. Any kids and parents that would like to participate in the parade should meet in front of Das Rad Haus between 10:00am and 10:30am on July 4th. The parade will start at 10:30. The parade route will take the kids down Commercial St, up 8th St, and back on Front St. See whole story…

Summer Ride Series June 26th

Originally scheduled for the 19th this ride has been moved due to Father’s Day. Now a week later you don’t have any excuses not to ride!!! June 26th: Meet at Garlini’s 11:30. Sign in and pick a ride option. Not a member? You can sign up before the ride. Remember, membership has its privileges and this is one of them. After the ride Garlini’s will have members only specials for post-ride fun. Two ride options: Ride straight from the restaurant OR catch a shuttle to the Horse Lake trail head. Either way, this is going to be a great ride that you don’t want to miss. This ride will be a work out either way. Skinny and sometimes technical single track. Long climbs that equal long descents. Ride leaders will guide this one from Garlini’s, up 5th street, up the gut, up snakebite, up lightning, across the coyote connector, down through the apricot orchards, down the new Homestead trail, and back out the gut. OR catch a shuttle to the Horse LK trailhead and meet up with the group on lightning. This option knocks out a huge chunk of climbing. Sign up for this one on the main Evergreen calendar. Who knows we may even have some wetsiders show up?

Red Hill Work Party Huge Success

Members from CWEvergreen partnered with the FS to take on the Red Hill trail. Lots of rain, horses, and motorcycles haven’t helped the trails lately. But we did! See full story…

Echo Ridge has long been a big draw for skate and classic cross-country skiers, but now a partnership with the Forest Service, local volunteers, and Evergreen has given us the opportunity to make Echo Ridge into a mountain biking destination. Big thanks to a group of hardworking volunteers who spent their Sunday helping maintain Devil’s Gulch. Chris Yankoviak led a crew of volunteers today up from from the bottom of the trail. Thanks to their hard work the trail is looking sweet.

This latest work will no doubt help Evergreen get ready for the upcoming Devil’s Fest weekend. Come up on the 24th and help us buff out Devil’s Gulch from top to bottom. We will reward ourselves with a pig roast, beer and good times Saturday night the 24th following the work day. Then we’ll ride the trail on Sunday! Sign up now and join the fun.

June 16th Summer Ride Series Went Well!!!

22 riders from across the state (Westsiders came in droves!) participated in Sunday’s Summer Ride Series event with Garlini’s. 9 riders went for it straight from the restaurant while 13 chose to start from Horse Lake. Everyone met at the top and railed it back down to Garlini’s for pizza and beers.

Loup Loup Work Party

A small group of dedicated trail lovers from the Methow and Wenatchee areas converged on the Loup Loup trail system last week. The group worked with local bike shop owner Joe Brown to get the trails ready for an upcoming mountain bike race. Click to view slideshow. The rain didn’t dampen anyone’s experience. Food, fun, and Central WA Evergreen style trail building made it a huge success. Thanks to all who volunteered their time!
